Developing my leadership skills has been a very intentional process. I’m still learning! Here is what I have learned in my journey from being a timid new employee to the leader of my company’s Women’s Business Resource Group, a founder and leader of a division wide mentorship program and have gained so much more confidence.
- Actively seek out leadership opportunities and be open to opportunities big or small.
- Learn to communicate effectively. For me a big part of this was public speaking and conducting of meetings.
- Build trust. Get to know your teams and stakeholders on a personal and professional level.
- Be willing to learn & have a plan for personal development.
